11．Father's Love
　　As a young man, Jack was an excellent artist with a wife and two fine sons. One night, his older son had a serious stomachache. Thinking it was only some (1)       disease (疾病), Jack and his wife didn't take the boy to the hospital. But the boy (2)       suddenly that night.

However, the director of the hospital said the patient couldn't be transferred unless he paid his bill first. The patient's family was very poor. They had no choice but to ask if they could pay the bill after the operation because the patient was close to death. But their request was refused.
　　The nurse, who had just arrived to work, heard about the situation and made a decision. She took off her gold ring, took it to the cashier's desk (收银台) and said she would use it to pay for the patient's bill. Although the ring was the only piece of valuable gift her parents gave her, the nurse gave it away to save the patient. Thanks to her help, the patient was at once transferred to another hospital and his life was saved. Though the patient was a stranger, the nurse gave so much to him.
　　The nurse's action caught the attention of the doctor on duty that day. The doctor saw everything in the hospital and he was deeply moved by the nurse. He later fell in love with the nurse and they finally got married. The patient attended their wedding (婚礼) as well and returned the ring.
　　Things like this happen every day in our life. Sometimes, giving can bring you something that you have never expected before. As Mother Teresa once said, "In our life, it is not how much you do, but how much love you put into what you do."

13．　　Three-two-one, fire!
　　At the moment of 9:43 am, on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2020, at the Xichang Satellite Launch Center (卫星发射中心) in Sichuan Province, the last satellite of the third-generation nehoork (第三代导航系统) was sent into space. It is the 55th member in the family of BeiDou. It belongs to China's Beidou Narigation Satellite System (BDS北斗卫星导航系统). So far, 59 satellites, including the first four test ones, have been launched from Xichang. With the development of China, we have already owned three other famous satellitle launch centers — Jiuquan, Taiyuan and Wenchang.
　　After a period of tests in space, this new satellite has started to work with other Beidou satellites together. It is designed to work for at least 12 years. So far, China has completed the third-generation network of China's BDS. It was a new milestone in the nation's space research work. The launch showed our country has completed our largest space-based system. It's one of four global (全球的) navigation networks, including the United States' GPS, Russia's GLONASS and the European Union's Galileo.
　　BDS has been widely used as publie resources (资源) in our daily life. It has been shared by the whole world. It will provide more services around the world. BDS is the common wealth of the development of human beings.

14． Bi Sheng was born in Song Dynasty. He lived in a small village which lies in Huanggang today. He invented the printing around 600 AD (公元). He was the world's first inventor of the printing. It is about 400 years earlier than the printing in Germany.
The printing is also called the movable type printing (活字印刷). But how did it work in the past?
First of all, the clay was made into movable types. Then words were engraved (雕刻) carefully onto the types. After that the words were chosen and put in right order in a box according to the text. Next, the workers brushed ink onto the movable types. Finally the types could be used for printing. They could be used again and again for different books.
The movable type printing plays an important role in Chinese culture. With the help of it, Chinese culture spread around the world more quickly. At the same time, the movable type printing was widely used in the world at that time. As a result, more and more culture communication among countries took place.
The movable type printing, the compass (指南针), gun powder and the paper-making are called four great inventions of China. They make China own an important and even top position in the history of human civilization (文明).

15．　　What is health? "Health" means eating well, getting enough exercise, and having a healthy weight. Let's read the following rules. (1)      
　　1. Eat different kinds of foods, especially fruit and vegetables. We all know that eating fruit and vegetables can help us stay healthy, (2)       Remember that we can only get the nutrition (营养) we need by eating different kinds of foods, especially fruit and vegetables.
