12．The man behind Marvel
　　In 1922, a Jewish boy named Stan Lee was born in New York City. His parents moved to the United States in 1920. He grew up during the difficult years of the post﹣World War and the early part of the Great Depression(大萧条), so his family was very poor. During that time, many other families put their children to work. But Stan's mother asked him and his younger brother to get education. Lee finished reading, writing and drawing when he was at school. In 1939, Lee finished the school and found a job in a cartoon company. That's the beginning of Lees cartoons. As an assistant in the cartoon company, he learned a lot about how to draw and make cartoon characters. Lee's fist superhero, Captain America, came out in 1941. After that, he made many popular cartoon characters like Spider Man, Thor Odinson, The Avengers and so on. The cartoon characters he drew became very famous all over the world and these cartoon series(系列)were called Marvel. And people call Stan The man behind Marvel.
