When she arrived, he said, "You are so slow that you would be a messenger (信使) for Death." Hearing the word "death", she cried and disappeared. He looked for her everywhere, but she was gone.
　　Several years later, Otto still missed his beautiful wife. Every Christmas Eve, he put up a colourful tree and hoped that she would return. People say this is the beginning of the Christmas tree.
