13. One day a lonely girl found two weak birds while she was walking in the forest. She took them home and put them in a small cage. She fed them with love and the birds grew strong. One day the girl left the cage's door open. The larger and stronger of the two birds flew out of the cage. The girl watched worriedly as it flew high above her. When the bird was flying happily in the sky, she was so glad. Just then the bird flew closer and sat softly on her shoulder. It sang the sweetest song she had ever heard.
The fastest way to lose love is to hold it; the best way to keep love is to let it fly!

Ice Bucket Challenge (冰捅挑战)
Come to Know and Help A. L. S. People!
People with A. L. S. (渐冻症)can not move, but they can feel your care and love. To know them, you may join our "Ice Bucket Challenge" activity. It is a very easy way. You can join this activity at Green City Park.
What you should do is only to:
1. Fill up a bucket with ice water.
2. Pour all the ice water over yourself.
3. Tell us 1—3 of your friends' names for challenging them.
After the challenge, you may also give out some money to help the A. L. S. people.
This activity is from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm every Sunday.

15. If you think you are too shy and want to be a little outgoing, try the following. You can make-it.
Be open to others. Tell people you are shy. There is no need to hide it. When they get to know that you are a shy kid, they'll understand you better. This also helps you feel more comfortable in talks.
Try to smile more. When you smile, people think you are friendly and easy to talk to. Remember that other people have feelings, too. Most people will stay away from an angry face.
Talk to others first. If you find it hard to start a conversation, say something nice about people around you. Think about how great you feel when someone says something nice to you. Doesn't it make you want to keep talking to those people?
Turn your attention to somewhere else. Think more about ways to enjoy parties or the games. Don't worry about your looks or whether people like you or not. You will become relaxed and find it isn't so hard to talk with others.

16. Having a part﹣time job is an important part of growing up for American teenagers. They can learn some important skills by doing a part﹣time job. They can also make some money in this way. Many teenagers believe that making their own money makes them feel free and proud.
American teenagers can do part﹣time jobs at the age of 14. During the school year, teenagers may go to work a few hours a week after school.
In summer, American teenagers are glad if they find part﹣time jobs at camps, swimming pools and amusement parks(游乐场). These jobs can bring them much fun while making money.
Some of the most stressful(压力大的)jobs are teaching, nursing, and police work. But these jobs can be useful for their future. When they grow up, the students with work experience are more likely to succeed than those without work experience.
A favorite job for many teenagers is taking care of babies, and they can start before the age of 14 if their parents agree. What they only do is to stay in the house and make sure the kids are okay, at the same time they can do their homework, watch TV, or talk on the phone with friends.
