13． Two Eggs, Two Pairs of Friends!
The Black family come to a new big city. Mrs. Black's son, Bob, is not (1)       . He doesn't have any friends to play with. "Don't worry!" says his mother. "You will soon make friends here".
One (2)       , there is a knock at the door. Bob's mother Mrs Black, opens it, There stands a woman with brown hair. It is Mrs. White. She comes to (3)        some eggs. She wants to make cakes. Children in the USA like K Day very much. K is for kites. March 7 is the day. On that day, lots of children go out in the park. They take their kites with them. Some kites are very big. Others are small. They are in different colours. Every kite has a long string. To get the kites up. the children begin to run. They let out the string from the ball in their hands. Now the kites are flying in the air. How nice they look!
Now all of the kites are high up in the air. Some are higher than others. The one like a bird is the highest. But what's wrong? It's flying away! The string is broken (破损的).
Another kite gets away. And more kites fly. But the children are running after them. They want to get them back. People are watching them and laughing. They feel very happy on that day.

16． A lot of animals live in the sea, Which animal is your favourite? Now let's have a look at dolphins. Can dolphins talk? Maybe they have mouths but they can't talk with words. they talk with sounds. They show their feelings with sounds.
They make a few sounds above water. They make many more sounds under water. People cannot hear these sounds because they are very, very high. Scientists make tapes of the sounds and study them.
Dolphins like to swim and play together. We call it "a school. They don't study, but they travel together. Dolphins are mammals (哺乳动物), not fish, but they swim together like fish in a school.
Dolphins talk to the other dolphins in the school. They give information. They tell when they are happy or sad or afraid. They say "welcome"when a dolphin comes back to the school. They talk when they play.
Sometimes people catch a dolphin for a large aquarium (水族馆). People can watch the dolphins in a show. Dolphins don't like to be away from their school in an aquarium. They are sad and lonely.
There are many stories about dolphins. They help people. Sometimes they save somebody's life. Dolphins' meat is good, but people don't like to kill them. They say that dolphins bring good luck. Many people believe this.

17． A good friend is always around you. We often have some problems about making friends. There are some ideas that can help you.
Wear clean clothes. Wearing clean clothes is very important. It will let others like you and go to you often.
Smile. It means that you are friendly. When you find someone is the friend you want, just smile and say "hi". Smiling can help you make friends easily.
Talk first. When you first talk to a new friend, you can ask them some funny questions and listen to them carefully. It's a bad idea to keep saying nothing. When you say a lot about yourself, they will learn about you better.
Meet the friends of your new friends. Your new friends must also have their other friends. It's a great chance to know more friends. Have lunch with them or play with them after school. Then you'll make more friends.
Play around and be open. If your friends are in a club or do sports, why not join them? Invite them to your house, or go swimming with them, and try to look for any reason to be with them. But never do anything if they say "no"!
