13.  Mildred Freeman was my English teacher in the ninth grade. She was humorous and kind, so I loved being around her. She was also a good listener.   Two years later she surprised me by attending my high school graduation ceremony. Late that year, when I arrived at her house I had hoped to talk to her about my future plans, but instead she was in hospital. I went to the hospital and was shocked (震惊的) to find that she was seriously ill. A month later after I got back home, I got a call that Mrs Freeman had died.
  To this day, more than 50 years later, I still remember her smile and the advice she gave me From time to time I reread her letters, thinking of the wonderful time we spent together.
