1. Volunteers(志愿者) are probably some of the most overlooked (被忽视的) people. But no activity would carry on smoothly (顺畅地)without hardworking volunteers. This month, I volunteered at the Color Run. Although I didn't have as much(1)      as the runners, I still learned an important lesson.
My job was to give a high﹣five to every (2)      at the finish line. At the beginning, we saw it as a simple job. When the first runner passed, we held out our hands and said "Good job" (3)      . However, more and more people crossed the finish line and touched their (4)      with mine, my arm got painful. To make things worse, it became(5)      . Our clothes were all wet and we felt tired. But soon we saw a group of (6)      running toward us ﹣ they were about 6 years old. Although they could hardly catch their breath, they still kept going with big smiles on their faces. They (7)      their hands and said, "High﹣five!"
At that moment, I was quite moved. They were so young, and they refused to (8)      . Suddenly. I felt myself become full of strength. I clapped (拍) their hands, "Well done, little guys!"
That is the meaning of being a volunteer. It is (9)      an easy job. However, we meet different people and are often moved by their spirit. Even if such spirit is not often found in daily life, it can(10)       us a lot when we do see it.
2. Some public schools in Shenzhen have started providing free after﹣school services for students.
The after-school services begin at 4:15 p. m. and end at 5:30 p. m. at Shenzhen Haibin Experimental Primary School(深圳海滨实验小学) in Nanshan District(区). Haibin Experimental Primary School organized three types of after﹣school activities, including club activities, self﹣study and self﹣reading. The school has also added 27 new clubs making a total of 94.
Over 83 percent of students at the school have joined in after﹣school services. At present 40 clubs hold activities every day after school. Clubs provide musical instruments, dancing, sports and painting lessons. Hopefully, the after﹣school services are not just a convenience for parents but also a chance for students to learn arts and sports.
At the Affiliated School of Luohu Education Institute(罗湖教科院附属学校), over 98 percent of students have attended the school's after﹣school activities, said the report. Students were seen doing rock climbing on the playground and discussing with teachers on how to make a virtual(虚报的) cat jump in a software program. The school holds two parts for primary students, with one from 4:10 p. m. to 4:50 p. m. while the other from 5 p. m. to 5:40 p. m. . The after﹣school services time for junior high students in the school is from 5 p. m. to 5:40 p. m. .

  Get to the Point
When sending a friend request, include your real name and many other identifying(身份拼别) information. Remember, everybody's time is valuable. If there's something you want cut right to the chase, never send an "Are you there?" without any follow﹣up messages. The quicker that you get to the point the more likely the other person is to reply.
  Send the Right Things
Please send texts, not voice messages. It might be easier for you to speak than type, but what about the person on the other end? They may be unable to listen to a 59﹣second message right now. Also, never send information by voice message—it is hard to note down. Emojis(表情符号) and GIFs can save the day when you find yourself in an embarrassing conversation, or words fail you.

You can always judge a person's mood by their text messages. If the person you're talking to says "Good night" or "I' m going to take a shower. " that's probably not what they're actually going to do. It is must an excuse to stop talking to you. If someone waits for longer than three seconds before saying "Yes", they probably really mean "No".
