1. The Merchant Of Venice (威尼斯商人) is grouped amongst Shakespeare's comedies (1)       the humorous portrayal of the jew Shylock, and the happy resolution of the (2)      , especially since the second world (3)      , it has been hard for people to accept the plays humour at the expense (价钱) of the jew. A political (4)       wholly unintended by Shakespeare is now read into the play. Therefore, the student of the Merchant of Venice must always bear in (5)       the current view of the play. Increasingly, Shylock is seen as a stranger in a strange land:lonely and ill treated (6)      , Malvolio in twelfth night is now raised up as a hero in some quarters. Some would argue that the play has become every bit as tragic as Macbeth or Othello. However, this is tragedy (7)       the loose, modern sense rather (8)       the traditional genre in which Shakespeare wrote more convincingly (令人心悦诚服地). It might be contended that the play explores the difference between parental and romantic (9)       every bit as well as Romeo and Juliet and the abuse (10)       wealth and position in a manner comparable (类似的) to Coriolanus.
2. If you travel in some area in India, you'll be lucky enough to be waited on by special guides―monkeys. Dressed in waistcoats, these monkeys are always ready to serve you. Hungry, you only need to point to your own stomach and they'll lead you to the nearest restaurant. Thirsty, the monkeys will lead you to a bar. Tired, you put both of your hands behind your head and the monkeys will take you to the nearest hotel. Don't feel puzzled when they put out their hairy hands to you after the service is done. They are just asking for a little money as a tip. After that, they wave their hands as if they are saying goodbye to you.
Believe it or not, the little guides are from the school for monkeys in India, where they were trained for one year to get their "diplomas" (文凭). They are not the only monkey students in the world. Some are being trained as nurses in an American medical college. These monkeys are about to look after patients and help them with housework after school.
A three-year-old monkey named Helen has learned to turn on and off the lights, play a recorder and open doors and windows when he is told to. In Malaysia where coconut trees reach high up to the sky, monkeys would climb to the top and pick the coconuts as ordered. Once the job is done, they would rush to their master, hoping to get some wild fruits as a reward.
3. Taking care of pets can be a great way to teach children responsibility, but it's important to be realistic. If you're keen on bringing an animal into your home and you've designed a plan for its proper care, here are some choices.
FISH
First−time owners should consider getting cold−water fish as no tank heater is required. They should research what kinds of fish get along in the same tank, and be aware of life expectancies—some goldfish can live up to 20 years.
RABBIT
Though rabbits, or nickname bunnies, may seem like a lovely choice, they can live up to ten years and require an amount of care similar to that of a dog or cat. They have their special diet needs, and often don't behave well around small children. Each year, quite a lot of Easter bunnies become homeless when families feel tired of them.
GUINEA PIGS (荷兰猪)
These small animals are ideal starter pets. Their cages must be cleaned daily, and they require toys to keep their ever growing teeth in check. Once they're used to the new way of life, guinea pigs need daily exercise in a small room without cracks or holes for escape. They don't want to be alone, but if you get two, make sure they're the same sex or they'll have babies.
BIRDS
Fond of a fixed timetable, birds require feeding at the same time each day. Cages should cleaned daily and disinfected weekly. Birds clean themselves by bathing in dishes of water and grow in cages big enough to spread their wings and fly a short time.
4. There's a new frontier in 3 D-printing that's beginning to come into focus food. Recent development has made possible machines that print, cook, and serve foods on a mass scale. And the industry isn't stopping there.
Food production with a 3 D printer, a cook can print complicated chocolate sculptures and beautiful pieces for decoration on a wedding cake. Not everybody can do that − it takes years of experience, but a printer makes it easy. A restaurant in Spain uses a Foodini to "recreate forms and pieces" of food that are "exactly the same," freeing cooks to complete other tasks.
In another restaurant, all of the dishes and desserts it serves are 3 D−printed, rather than farm to table.
Sustainability (可持续性) The global population is expected to grow to 9. 6 billion by 2050, and some analysts estimate that food production will need to be raised by 50 percent to maintain current levels. Sustainability is becoming a necessity. 3 D food printing could probably contribute to the solution. Some experts believe printers could use hydrocolloids (水解胶体) from plentiful renewables like algae (藻类) and grass to replace the familiar ingredients (烹饪原料). 3 D printing can reduce fuel use and emissions. Grocery stores of the future might stock "food" that lasts years on end, freeing up shelf space and reducing transportation and storage requirements.
Nutrition-Future 3 D food printers could make processed food healthier. Hod Lipson, a professor at Columbia University, said, "Food printing could allow consumers to print food with customized nutritional content, like vitamins. So instead of eating a piece of yesterday's bread from the supermarket, you'd eat something baked just for you on demand."
Challenges Despite recent advancements in 3 D food printing, the industry has many challenges to overcome. Currently, most ingredients must be changed to a paste (糊状物) before a printer can use them, and the printing process is quite time−consuming, because ingredients interact with each other in very complex ways. On top of that, most of the 3 D food printers now are restricted to dry ingredients, because meat and milk products may easily go bad.
Some experts are skeptical about 3 D food printers, believing they are better suited for fast food restaurants than homes and high−end restaurants.
