16. When people think of life in Europe hundreds of years ago, they often think of castles (城堡) built of stone, with huge towers. (1)

It was busy all day and every day. Usually there was a good distance (距离) between a castle's kitchen and other rooms and buildings, especially. the great hall, a large room where people came together for meals and other activities. (3)
