14. Many students love a big delicious breakfast, especially when it is made with fresh eggs. And then most of them throw their eggshells out with the kitchen waste. However, that's only because they don't know about how to use the eggshells.
Eggshells are a wonderful cleaner. Simply break them into small pieces, mix them with soap and water, and then use them to wash the mess away.
Eggshells are also great for the garden. Spread broken eggshells onto the garden soil (泥土)to help plants grow. They also help to keep harmful insects(害虫)away. If you plan to grow some plants from seeds(种子), put them in the soil in an eggshell, and then put the whole thing in a pot. The eggshell will break down to help the new plants grow.
Surprisingly, you can also eat your eggshells. They are rich in minerals that help build strong teeth and bones. Just be sure to boil(煮)your eggshells first, because there are some bacteria(细菌)in them. After turning them into powder(粉末), you can add it to your favorite foods and drinks. You can even feed it to your pets to help them stay healthy.
As we can see, eggshells have almost as many uses as the eggs themselves. The next time you finish eating your breakfast, think twice before you throw your eggshells out.

The bad little pumpkin seed said he wanted to become a morning glory(喇叭花)".
"But the two little pumpkin seeds knew where they were well enough, and they let the rain and the sun help them grow. Then they both began to push, and gradually(慢慢地)they got their heads out of the ground. The bad little pumpkin vine(秧) said to his brother: 'Well, what are you going to do now?'The good little pumpkin vine said, 'Oh, I'm just going to stay here, and grow and grow, and put out all the blossoms I can, and let them all drop off but one, and then grow that into the biggest and fattest and sweetest pumpkin that ever was for Thanksgiving pies. 17. What would it be like to live on Mars? The movie The Martian has given us some answers. It is a 2015 science fiction movie. Matt Damon, who turns 50 this year, plays the main role in the movie. To survive, he finds a way to grow potatoes in a special room. He wears a spacesuit (太空服) when he is outside his "home".
The movie is set in the mid﹣2030s. NASA(美国国家航空航天局) worked with the producers(制片人) of The Martian to make the science in the movie realistic.
In fact, just like in the movie, walking on Mars' surface without a suit is a bad idea, because people would die in about 30 seconds. "Your eyes and skin would peel away like sheets of burning paper, " science reporter Ross Andersen said. "Your blood would turn to steam, and you would die within 30 seconds. " There is bad radiation (辐射) and dust storms. So people would most likely live in underground homes. If technology improves, more people and construction materials may go to Mars. Then people could build airtight (密不透风的) homes on the surface. And life would start to look like that on Earth.
On Mars, people could grow wheat and potatoes in special boxes. They could help make oxygen (氧气) for humans to breathe like trees do on Earth.
How to move around Mars? People have suggested cars, bikes, trains, cars and planes. However, there are no plans to say exactly what humans will use.
