He hit it with his horn sending the poor turtle flying (4)       all directions. From a distance, it looked a bit like that the turtle was a football.
Quite a funny thing it was, a crowd of monkeys soon came close (5)       it. They laughed non-stop at the angry rhino and, of course, the turtle.
However the rhino was too angry with the turtle, (6)       he didn't even notice that the monkeys were laughing. He went on until he had to stop for a second to get his breath.
Then he heard the laughing and joking of the monkeys, who were making fun of him in every way you can imagine.
Both the rhino and the turtle who had appeared from his shell (7)       enjoy the laughing. So, they exchanged a knowing look, nodded, and the turtle went back inside his shell. The rhino very quietly walked back (8)       steps, looked at the monkeys, took a run up, and shot the giant turtle with such a good aim (瞄准) that it looked like he was using the monkeys as the goal of a football game.

I had recently had a beagle, the first and only animal friend I ever had. But one morning, he was gone, given away to someone who had the space and the money to care for him. 13. The Shenzhou XIII mission crew's six-month journey in space has left many talks about the differences between male and female astronauts.
Wang Yaping, a 41-year-old female astronaut from Shandong province in East China, became the first Chinese woman to enter China's space station.
"Spaceflight missions (任务) are extremely hard. Astronauts need to meet both the physical and emotional challenges. Female astronauts are no exception." said Pang Zhihao, a spaceflight researcher in Beijing. "Although many people think that it is inconvenient for women to take part in long-term spaceflights, female astronauts actually have many advantages. They are usually more thoughtful and careful, and better at communicating."
Wang's space dream started in 2003 when China sent its first astronaut Yang Liwei into space. At that time, she was a pilot in the Chinese army. After having safe flights for 1,600 hours over nine years, Wang was a strong candidate (候选人) to become an astronaut in 2010. She pushed herself hard, getting the same training as men. The hardest part is the high-G training. Sitting in a spinning (旋转的) machine, Wang would become blind for a while because her brain was short of blood. "There's a red button," said Wang. "If you can't bear it, you can press it to stop." But Wang never used it. "There is no such red button in my heart." That strong spirit finally made her dream come true in 2013. She joined the team for the Shenzhou X mission. Then, she was chosen for the Shenzhou XIII mission in December 2019.
Retired NASA astronaut Catherine Coleman sent a greeting to Wang before the Shenzhou XIII trip. Coleman said, "When you look out the window and see the stars and the Earth, billions of women will be looking out that window with you." Wang carries the spirit of every young woman who dreams of something big.
14. Once, there was a spoilt (被宠坏的) little prince. He wouldn't let anybody have a new toy if he didn't have it first. So, if any child in the land wanted a new toy, they had to buy two and give one to him first.
One day a toymaker came to the land. The prince liked his toys so much that he invited him to stay a year, provided him with a lot of money and asked him to make a new toy every day.
"I just want to find a good owner to play with my lovely toys." said the toy maker. "Will you promise to spend time with each one every day?" "Of course." replied the little prince.
Every morning the prince got a new toy, but day by day, there were too many toys. So, one day the prince put a few toys to one side, hoping to just "forget" about them. However, when the prince was ready to go to bed, those toys lined up in front of him and, one by one, asked for their daily playtime. That night, the little prince just couldn't get to sleep until midnight. The next day, the tired prince slept very late but he still had to get to know a new toy and then play with all the others.
From then on, every day was a little bit harder. The prince was so tired and sleepy. ______. Later, the prince had less and less time and had to play while eating, talking, bathing and even sleeping. He was terribly tired until one day, as he was looking out of his window, he saw some children playing with a stone.
"Hmmmm, I have an idea!" he said, and he sent for the children. He shared his toys and let the children take home the toys they liked the most.
The idea worked. The prince could enjoy himself without having too many toys to play with. Even better, he had new friends. From then on, he did the same thing and invited more children.
At the end of the year the 365 fantastic toys had all been shared out and the palace had turned into the best playroom in the kingdom.
15. Who is smarter? A human being or artificial intelligence (人工智能)?
The question was asked around the world when a computer program called AlphaGo beat the world top Go (围棋) player, South Korean Lee Se-del, 4-1. In fact, before the match, most people believed that Lee would certainly be the winner because they didn't think that Al was good enough to be better than the human mind. However, as a machine, AlphaGo would never get tired, while Lee Se-del was only a human and humans must have some weaknesses.
  So, what comes next?
Some people have been thinking that artificial intelligence, or AI in short, will be a bad thing for humans. In an interview with the BBC in 2014, the UK scientist Stephen Hawking showed his opinion that development of full artificial intelligence could mean the end of the human beings.
So, are we really about to live in the world controlled by AI or robots?
Not quite. After all, it's not hard to get a computer program to remember and produce facts. What is hard is getting computers to use their knowledge in everyday fields (领域).
"We think that, for the human being, things like seeing and moving, are natural and common in our life." Thomas Johnson, founder of Motion Figures, a company that is bringing AI to toys, told the newspaper. "But for a robot, to walk up and down just like human beings needs a great number of things to be done every second, and it's really difficult to do. We have a long way to go before AI can truly begin to be like the human brain, even though the technology can be great."
But, who believes much has to be done to improve AI?
John Markoff of The New York Times said that researchers should build artificial intelligence to improve people's life. "Our fate is in our hands." he wrote. "Since technology depends on the ideas of its creators, we can choose to use technology to improve the world."
