11. A mother was not ready to go on a hike, so her two little girls decided to go themselves. Then they went missing in the forest.

13. Diwali (排灯节) is India's biggest and most important holiday of the year. It gets its name from the row of lamps. Indians believe that the light can keep them away from darkness.
Diwali is in October or November each year. Family members always gather together. They light lamps and use flowers to decorate. People set off fireworks, share sweets with others and worship (拜) their God-Lakshmi. People believe that opening doors and windows and lighting lamps can invite Lakshmi in.
Diwali lasts five days. On the first day of Diwali, women clean the homes and do some shopping. On the second day, people decorate their homes with lamps and make patterns called rangoli on the floor with colored powder (粉末), sand or flowers. On the third day, family members gather and worship Lakshmi. The fourth day is also the first day of the New Year. People visit their friends and relatives with. pngts and wish each other good luck. On the last day of Diwali, brothers visit their married sisters and have a good meal there.
14. We know music is very important in our daily life. Do you notice music playing at any of those places when you go somewhere?Today most stores, stations, restaurants and other places play music. You might even hear music in an office or in a farm.
Scientists believe that music influences the way people behave. They think that the sound of western classical (古典) music makes people feel richer. When a restaurant plays classical music, people spend more money on food and drinks. When the restaurant plays modern music, people spend less money. Without music, people spend even less.
Scientists also believe that loud, fast music makes people eat faster. Some restaurants play fast music during their hours. This makes people eat faster and leave quickly. Restaurants can make more money in this way.
Some scientists think that music makes you think and learn better. They say that music helps students to be more active. It is true that people learn better when they are relaxed. And listening to music can help you relax.

15. At the beginning of this term, my P.
