2. If you're a kid who likes to have fun and chat with friends online, here's how you can stay safe and avoid problems.
Choose safer sites. Your parents and teachers can guide you to the best sites for you. Some sites have age restrictions (限制), so it's safer to tell the truth and keep away from those sites until you're older. Also remember that plenty of sites let you play games and have fun without asking you to create an account (帐户).
Guard your passwords. To keep people from guessing your password, don't pick something easy like your pet's name or your favorite team. For a truly secret password, try picking two very random (随机的) words that have nothing to do with you (lampshadeMilk). To keep it super secret, put a number between the words (lampshade7 Milk). Remember not to share your passwords with anyone except your parents.
Limit what you share. It's best to think first and type second when you're sharing something about yourself online. You probably already know that you shouldn't tell a stranger where you live or give out your phone number. And be careful not to send pictures that include other people or that allow others to see exactly where you are. Some phones and computers will state your location, so always be sure your location apps are turned off.
Be choosy about your online friends. Some sites let kids make lots of friends with people they don't know. Some kids even compete to see who can get the most friends. But online friends are not the same as real in﹣person friends.
Never agree to meet an online friend in person or give out personal information about yourself, such as your home address, where you go to school, or your phone number. It's dangerous because some adults pretend (假装) to be kids online.

3. The first Starbucks coffee shop opened in 1971 in downtown Seattle, Washington, in the USA. It was a small coffee shop created (创建) by Jerry, Zev and Gordon, and the shop cooked its own coffee beans. The coffee shop's business (生意) did well, and by 1981, there were three more Starbucks stores in Seattle.
Things really began to change for the company in 1981. That year Howard Schultz met the three men who ran Starbucks. Schultz worked in New York for a company that made kitchen equipment (设备). He noticed that Starbucks bought a large number of special coffee makers, which caused his great interest. Schultz went to Seattle to see what the Starbucks did. In 1982, the three Starbucks owners hired Schultz as the company' s head of marketing.
In 1983, Schultz traveled to Italy. The special environment (环境) of the coffee bars there caught his eyes. Back in the USA, Schultz created an environment for Starbucks coffee shops, and customers everywhere seemed to like it. Starbucks began opening more stores across the USA. Then the company opened coffee shops in other countries as well. Today, there are more than 16, 000 Starbucks coffee shops all over the world.
However, that does not mean Starbucks has not had problems. In fact, many Starbucks stores have closed over the past few years. On the one hand, this is because there were too many coffee shops competing for business in one small area. On the other hand, stores in some countries closed because the coffee culture there did not match with the "feel the same everywhere" environment offered by Starbucks.

Doudna and Chaipentier won the prize for developing CRISPR/Cas9 genetic scissors (基因剪刀), a technology that can rewrite DNA in cells (细胞). It has had a great impact (影响) on the life sciences. For example, it can help us develop crops that can withstand droughts (抗旱). It could also help treat inherited diseases (遗传病) in the future.
On hearing that they were the sixth and seventh women in history to win the Chemistry Prize, Charpentier said that she hopes girls and young female scientists will "understand that nothing is impossible". They can "find great discoveries (发现)", whether the man or the woman is.
Ghez, who was awarded for her research on black holes, had the same feeling, "I hope more young women come into the field, " Ghez said. She is also one of the writers of the 2006 children's book, You Can Be a Woman Astronomer.

16. When it comes to eating, we have strong habits. But most of the habits are not good for us. Let's read the following rules. They can help you eat well and stay healthy.
Eat all kinds of foods. We all know that eating fruit and vegetables can help us stay healthy. But many of us only eat our favorite food. Remember that we can only get the nutrition(营养) we need by eating different kinds of foods. There are five main types of healthy foods, they are fruit, vegetables, whole grains(谷物), protein(蛋白质) and low﹣fat dairy products(奶制品).
Drink water and milk most often. Everyone knows that water is important. Adults should drink 2﹣3 liters of water per day, while children should drink 12 liters. Besides that, kids need plenty of calcium(钙)to grow strong bones, and milk has a lot of it. Every day, you should drink at least three cups of milk, when you are 9 years old or older, you should also try to have less sugary drinks, like soda and coca. Sugar just adds calories (卡路里), not important nutrition.
Listen to your body, when you are eating. Notice how your body feels. When your stomach feels comfortably full, stop eating. Eating too much makes you feel uncomfortable. If you do it too often, it can make you unhealthy and fat. When you eat, you should eat slowly. If you eat too quickly, you may "clean your plate" instead of paying attention to whether your stomach feels full.
Be smart about your dinner. A good time for a healthy evening meal is between 17:00 and 20:00. Food provides us with energy, and at night your body simply doesn't need any. It's best to avoid late night snacks because they fill you with unnecessary calories and can disrupt your sleep.
