15．　　There were only a few thousand people in the world long ago. Those people didn't live in one place. They moved from place to place, catching animals for food.
　　No one knows how or when those people learned about growing food. But when they did, their lives changed. They did not have to look for food any more. They could stay in one place and grow it. People began to live near one another, so the first village grew. Many people came to work in the village. These villages grew very big.
　　When machines were invented, life in the villages changed again. Factories were built. More and more people lived near the factories. The cities grew very big.
　　Today some people are moving back to small towns.

16．　　Kaavan, an elephant, was described as "the world's loneliest elephant" in the past. After living years alone in a zoo in Pakistan, Kaavan arrived in Cambodia. He will live with lots of elephants.
　　Kaavan is the only Asian elephant in Pakistan. It was given to Pakistan in 1986 and later went to Islamabad's Marghazar Zoo. Life was hard for Kaavan. The conditions at the zoo weren't good. In those days, people there often ordered him to use his nose to beg for money from zoo visitors. In 1990, a female elephant named Saheli came to the zoo. The two lived together happily. But after living with Kaavan for 22 years, Saheli died. Kaavan was alone again. He became sad and unhealthy. He sometimes became violent. One day, he even killed a little rabbit. In 2015, a student tried to save Kaavan. In 2016, reporters wrote about Kaavan's conditions. Many people worked hard to save him. In June, 2016, the zoo closed. Kaavan would go to Cambodia, but there were two problems. He was too heavy and he could be violent. But finally, Kaavan made his flight to Cambodia.
　　Kaavan now is in Oddar Meanchey, Cambodia. There are 600 elephants. He'll never be alone again.

17．　　One day, a colt (小马) took a bag of food to a new place. As he was running with the bag on his back, he came to a small river.
　　The colt could not know if he could cross it. Looking around, he saw Aunt Cow. He asked, " Aunt Cow, could you tell me if I can cross the river?" The cow told him that he could and the river was not very deep, just knee high.
　　The colt was crossing the river when a squirrel (松鼠) jumped down a tree and stopped him. The squirrel shouted, "Colt, stop! You will fall! One of my friends fell into the river yesterday." Not knowing what to do, the colt went home to ask his mom.
　　He told his mom his experience on the way. His mother said, "My child, don't always listen to others. You'd better go and try yourself. Then you'll know what to do."
　　Later, at the river, the squirrel stopped the colt again." Little horse, it's too dangerous!" "No, I want to try myself, " answered the colt. Then he crossed the river carefully. On the other side of the river, the colt realized that the river was not as shallow (浅) as the cow said or as deep as the squirrel told him.
